Halloween: The Main Event

Halloween is October 31, the night spooky never sleeps. It grew out of Samhain and All Hallows’ Eve into the costumes, candy and jack-o’-lanterns we know today, and it’s the night LVCRFT lives for. Your host for the night: Skeleton Sam.

Where did Halloween come from?

Halloween started as All Hallows’ Eve, the night before All Saints’ Day on November 1. It borrowed bonfires, costumes and carved lanterns from Samhain. Irish and Scottish immigrants carried those customs to America, where pumpkins replaced turnips and trick-or-treating took off after World War II.
